Since 2020, Upendo Media has been documenting, illuminating and celebrating the trajectories that matter — those of the women and men who, every day, transform their continents, their neighbourhoods, their industries. Not with grand declarations. With work. With precision. With a rare attention to those who are rarely seen.

Our editorial line is simple: go deep. Not press releases, not formats engineered for the algorithm. In-depth interviews, portraits that take their time, geopolitical analyses that respect the reader's intelligence. Over 600 talents given visibility since we began.
The journalism we practise is not done from a comfortable Parisian office. It is done with feet in the dust, eyes wide open, and the conviction that every story deserves to be told with the care it carries. Upendo — love in Kiswahili — is first and foremost that: a way of being present to what is truly happening.
We work with journalists, researchers and practitioners who know their subject from the inside. We refuse exoticisation, paternalism, folklore. We tell complexity with clarity, commitment without partisan bias, diversity without condescension. That is what we promised our 33,000 subscribers. That is what we deliver.
